Liam - Week 39

Date/Week: September 21st; week 39

My Total weight gain/loss:

His Stats:

Milestones: 2nd trip abroad.  Crawling on the grass (hates it).

Developmental Progress:  He's doing a proper crawl but I think he finds it slow;  Climbed down off of a chair; waving is looking more and more like a wave

Energy level: Not much sleep because it has been a difficult teething week. So far the trend has continued into our vacation with the addition of a cold...

Thoughts and Feelings? I have no idea how people travel with more than one kid. It's like we were flying with the whole house. Getting to the rental car was insane. Still, I must say that travelling with a 9 month old has been fun thus far... he likes to travel

What I am looking forward to: Enjoying Boston - the Aquarium, Salem, etc.

Liam - Week 38

Date/Week: September 14th; week 38

My Total weight gain/loss:

His Stats:

Milestones: New car seat.  New foods this week: jello (enjoyed playing with it more than eating it); snow peas, cooked spinach.

Developmental Progress:  Getting better at bridging to get from one thing he's holding on to to another when standing. In the playpen will stand on his music desk to get higher. Definitely dancing when he hears music that he likes (classical is still good for bed though). Can handle the sippy cup on his own - with his feet up on the side of the playpen. 'Sharing' with the dogs at dinnertime is getting a bit much - it's the only times the dogs come near him and he knows it!.

Energy level: It was a busy weekend and it is a tough week so I'm feeling a bit run down. Plus Liam woke up at 2 am this morning and he never does that anymore...

Exercise: Mostly walking; performed on Monday night; dance classes start this week

Thoughts and Feelings? I've two additional weeks to work on my dissertation thanks to my mentor teaching in India. I should be able to submit the Lit Review this week and hope to finish Chapter 3 this weekend. Then the fun really begins... I'd love to finish before May!

What I am looking forward to: This time next week I will be on holiday...

Liam - Week 37

Date/Week: September 7th; week 37

My Total weight gain/loss:

His Stats:

Milestones: He's been out in the world now for as long as he was in utero! New foods this week: cauliflower; rice. First haircut. Standing up in his crib to cry when he doesn't want to be there.

Developmental Progress:  Easy transition from sitting to crawling to pulling up to standing. Sounds like he's trying to sing along to nursery rhymes. Starting to get very clingy with us, this teacher and my parents when meeting new people.

Energy level: Doing well - I start dancing this month so I hope it continues...

Exercise: Mostly walking

Thoughts and Feelings? I cannot believe that we've now had Liam for as long as I was pregnant. It has let to the discussion of whether we would like another child. I believe we're happy with our little family for now and will revisit the topic next year. There is so much to do between now and next June as it is!

Other than that, my next class begins next week. My committee is assembled and I am praying that I can get the proposal together for submission soon!

What I am looking forward to: Vacation in 2 weeks!

02 September 2011

Liam - Week 36

Date/Week: August 31st; week 36

My Total weight gain/loss:

His Stats:

Milestones: New foods this week: lasagna, red & yellow peppers. Appointment has been made for his first hair cut. Feeds the dogs his dinner.

Developmental Progress:  He has started bridging between items when standing up. Starting to clap.

Energy level: It's been a bad week after being sick over the weekend. I hope to be back to normal soon.

Exercise: Mostly walking

Thoughts and Feelings? Back to school. I have until May to finish this dissertation. I am focused on graduation (and a visit to Vegas afterwards).

What I am looking forward to: Boston in 3 weeks!
